Happiest of New Years to You!

Dear All,
I hope you all had a safe and happy Christmas and New Years.
Over the next few weeks, I will be updating my blog with snapshots and descriptions of what I got up to over my long awaited break and what we ate!!

Firstly, I'll begin by stating the obvious... I had a Summery Christmas.

I spent Christmas Eve with Byron, we watched the fire works over the city from our balcony. He cooked prawns in a tomato based sauce with fresh lime . They were unusual as he left their shells on but still so delicious. Next year we'll have garlic butter prawns on Christmas Eve...or maybe this week because we can!

We also enjoyed crispy skinned Salmon and I made chocolate martinis.

Huge thanks to Mum who gave me some fabulous presents, including this gorgeous Scanpan. We used it immediately!

Christmas day was perfect, I spent it with my Mum and we relaxed, cooked and really settled into the beginning of our break from work by celebrating with all the wonderful Summer fruits you can imagine.

Oh, I got to hang out with Portia, which was wonderful because she is always excited to see me and I feel like I'm back in high school, just stepping off the school bus and there she is, with Mum waiting for me to go for a ..W.A.L.K!

Christmas dinner began roasting very early on. We had roast pork, potatoes, pumpkin and sweet potato. We also had honey carrots and zucchini and let me tell you, it was difficult to put it all away but I managed to devour it ALL! Mum and I also celebrated with Riccadonna, which is a sparkling sweet wine that Mum brings out on Christmas and it always reminds me of home.

OK, sorry to be so abrupt but I just realised the time and I will be late for work if I don't catch my train so I'll share more later.

Here's a quick sneak peek... We travelled around a bit, sampling food and cooking and my Uncle and Aunty came to visit for New Years with my three cousins. I made some cocktails and some rather strange shooters. See if you can guess the weird shooter I made... I honestly don't think you'll be able to!

More about that later..right now I'm going to shovel some breakfast before running to the 09:07 train.
